OT: Movies/TV Shows

Luke is probably only in the movie in the last 20 seconds. We'll have to wait for the next movie. Leave them wanting more.

Hanks in top form is like eating a peanut butter and banana sandwich. It's good, not great, and there are better alternatives for lunch.

My favourite tom hanks film is still Money Pit though..... we had firstchoice/superchannel back in the day and that played on a loop for a while. Watched it every time.

Hanks is a brilliant actor......specifically because he doesn't have to resort to hackney over the top theatrics to convey emotion. It's in his subtlety that his talent lies.

He's been brilliant in a plethora different movies....average in some, bad in a few. Overall tho he's been one of the best of his generation.

Just watch his last 5 minutes onscreen in Captain Phillips. I can't believe he didn't even get an Oscar nomination.

Big & The Burbs >>>

The Burbs is an all-time Classic. So damn funny. And what a cast. It's funny because in 1988 it was viewed as terrible now it's become a cult classic.

Another great underrated Hanks film and movie is "Dragnet". One of the best series to movie adaptations ever. Hanks is great in it.

I actually think that there's an argument that Hanks' work as an executive producer on some seriously iconic television series and films deserves just as much acclaim as his filmography: From the Earth to the Moon, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, and The Seventies is an incredible body of high-quality work to have produced.

Fargo S02 E02 was very good. Looking like this season will be really, really good as well. I have my doubts that it will be AS good but it sure isn't looking like the disappointment you'd expect ala True Detective. Completely changing the story and cast from such a great first season sure makes it tough for a show to remain great. Fargo appears to have pulled it off.

The writer/producer of Fargo is great.

I was watching the 2nd episode, and the accents, cars and setting started reminding me of 80's CBC programming (with better acting, direction and music of course). Turn the volume down and try it.
