OT: NFL thread

Talk about a joke of a punishment. You really see that the league integrity is second to money revenue. First, the team gets a stupid 1 millions fine and lost a 1st round pick. How much do you think winning the superbowl got them? They should have been fine with the equivalent of the superbowl revenue generated by their team winning and last their first draft pick for the next 5 years.

now About Brady, refusing to collaborate is just another way for him to see he was guilty. When you are innocent, you have no issue to collaborate. The guy is a cheater and just pretty much lost his chance to go to the HoF. Pete rose anyone? I think he should have been suspended for the entire year. Show everyone that the league is serious about cheating.

Not getting the connection..anyway, apparently the friendship between Roger and Kraft is dead. Roger has no friends, so none of the owners can complain.
Mara is the Giants' owner and will do what he can to screw us over. He got us to play his team twice in seven weeks while Hardy is out, got us a cap penalty fot using the non cap year to our advantage etc. He will ensure Brady is back to beat us in game 4

Don't forget, the Patriots still have the best QB on the AFC East while Brady is suspended.

Nah... Tannehill is not that bad.... He's better than a very unproven Garapollo.

I'm not a huge Tannehill fan, but out of the QBs in the division (minus Brady), he's the best clearly.

The penalty only seems harsh because the league knows that it will be reduced on appeal. So they give him 4 games knowing that it will only end up being 2 games.

You could look at it that he was underpenalized because of how long the investigation took.

Lets say a player does something obvious, liek i don't know... a player hits a ref in the AFC championship. That player is going to be IMMEDIATELY suspended, meaning no Superbowl.

Brady was able to play in the Superbowl, and I'm pretty confident the Pats wouldn't win that game without Brady, so by things dragging on as long as they did, he avoided missing a bigger game (even if his suspension might have been shorter, it would have been at least 1 game).

They will reduce so that he can play in Dallas in week five. NFC East owners will not want us getting a free game against the Patriots when they will have to play them with Gisele's husband as QB

The act of deflating the balls itself is really a misdemeanor offence. He's really being punished for the cover-up.

I wonder though, if he had copped to it prior to the Super Bowl would Roger have the balls (pardon the pun) to suspend him for the big game? Kraft (and a lot of SB sponsors) would have lost their minds.

Contrary to what you may think, not everything is about the Cowboys. I'm sure most no longer give them a second thought anymore.

This is a pretty significant punishment.

In fairness to Chip and his boys, it is just a reporter writing it but I am sure Lurie doesn't disagree. Wouldn't shock me if Lurie, Mara and Snyder pay for Brady's appeal themselves.
