OT: NFL thread

Andrew "Just Put Me In The HOF Already Guys, Debates Over Yo" Luck with another pretty bad game.

Top-5 QB in the league? What?

Problem is the colts have a bottom of the barrell roster.... 1 player no matter how good can't make up for an offensive line that can't block... running backs who can't run... a good couple WRs but no depth... and a defense that sucks balls.

Colts GM needs to be fired, this roster is shameful.

And yet, this is a team that many thought was going to be in the Superbowl. There always seems to be an excuse for him.

Andrew Luck continues to underwhelm me. I'm waiting for that guy some people said has "Hall of Fame talent" before he was ever drafted to show up. I'm waiting for that guy that some here said he's a top-5 QB in the league, something I still find ludicrous. Sure, there are games where he looks all world, but then there are games where he looks like he's Matt Cassells. One day he'll surely be a top-5 QB, but until then, the continued narrative of Andrew Luck's "greatness" is annoying to no end because there is no greatness, just repeated mediocrity.

Exactly. Only a small handful of teams have a realistic shot at winning the championship. The rest are just helping fans kill time on Sunday afternoons.

How do yo explain the Giants beating the Pats twice in the Superbowl.....they were a 8-8 team...clearly a meaningless team at 8-8

Those who thought they would be in the superbowl are the minority. Most analysts see what they are a flawed team with a good qb who will make the playoffs cause the entire division is flawed.

You want him to wow you... youll be waiting til indy gives him a real team

So if Packers don't win, using that logic, Rodgers presence or not is meaningless ergo Rodgers is meaningless.
But the Packers do win and Rodgers is a huge reason why they win. With Rodgers the Packers are Superbowl contenders. With or without Romo the Cowboys are not. You have to stop comparing Romo and the Cowboys to QB's and teams that actually have a legitimate shot at winning a championship. They are not equal.

You are the only person on the planet who believes the Cowboys are the same team with or without Romo. They have lost the last six games he missed due to injury. They are 15-4 in the last nineteen he has started. Clearly he makes a difference.

Sounds like Wehave

Sure he makes a difference. Without him they are horrible. With him they are elevated to mediocre. And admittedly being mediocre might be all you need to win the NFC East but you aren't winning any Superbowls. If the height of your ambition is to make the playoffs and get annihilated on national television by a better team then I guess having Romo healthy will get you that far. But I thought that the point was to win championships, not just put a couple of extra millions into Jerry's pocket.

They were 12-4 last year, that is hardly mediocre. They beat the NFC Champs in their barn, were a drop on a catch rule no one really understands away from beating your beloved Packers. (yeah I know a blown call helped them against Detroit but we also came back from down 17 that game as well).

Look I know you hate them and even if they won a SB, you would find a way to crap on them claiming it was tainted somehow.

With Romo, I am certain at worst we are 4-2 this year. Because he is out, along with Dez, we are 2-4. Most teams could lose one of their top two offensive players, most cannot lose two.

Sam Bradford is really bad, isn't he? As is Chip the GM (that receiving crew is awful) . . . any maybe the Chip the coach too. After Ryan Matthews 63 yard TD run last night, he got one more carry the whole game. That's almost MT-like (2013-2015) coaching.

Chip knows he is better and smarter than all of us.

How said is it that the Giants will win the division this year mostly due to Chip's incompetence and the Cowboys' injuries.

I'd argue the Cowboys would be 5-1 if Romo wasn't injured. Only team they would have lost to is New England because shit, everyone's losing to New England.

Even for you I can't believe you write this crap knowing that the Cowboys and Romo had beaten the Packers and Rodgers in the playoffs last year if not for a bad call... it's not like Rodgers crushed the Cowboys even in the win.

Is Romo better than Rodgers... likely no... but he isn't that far off and that isn't coming from a Cowboys fan but from just about every NFL football analyst, which is something you so obviously are not.
