OT: NFL thread

I am here officially to eat crow. lol

What a catastrophic performance. And all this the day after the Habs lose to Carolina. sheeesh

Might stop following sports altogether. Maybe get into woodworking, or raising organic pheasants and other fowl.

Good grief.

You're a good man, LCS.

This is what happens when you don't respect your opponent in professional sports. That drop kick was utter BS by Big Bill and turned the game around.

Darth Belichick won't be criticized though. Even when he went on 4th down vs Manning from his own 28 it was inspired. He could take a crap at the 50 and his sycophants would call it gold.

Jack Todd
So the Dallas Cowboys beat the Washington Racist Names in the battle of obnoxious owners. There oughta be a way they could both lose.

The only people who lost were the ones who actually bothered to watch that abortion of a game. MNF needs to stop scheduling games between teams this bad.

You didnt say that in the 80s when Packers were bad.

The schedule was set when Ccowboys were coming off 12-4. You can't flex a MNF game like SNF.

You must have watched it though.

In the 80's when the Packers were bad they played half of their home games in Milwaukee and you never saw them on national television unless they played the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. But the Cowboys, like the Leafs, get rammed down our throats no matter how putrid they play.

And no, I did not watch it.

And you watch them with millions. I remember a Packer team QBed by Lynn Dickey on MNF and they were being rammed downy throat.

Most Appearances on MNF

1) Miami Dolphins - 78
2) Dallas Cowboys - 76
3) San Francisco 49ers - 70
4 - TIE) Pittsburgh Steelers/Oakland Raiders - 66
5 - TIE) Denver Broncos/Washington Racist Nickname - 65
6) Chicago Bears - 63
7) Green Bay Packers - 61

And the team with the best record in Monday night games? Your Seattle Seahawks, ladies and gentlemen. 22-8 in 30 appearances.

dolphins are the best

I watched the last five minutes of the game, i.e., the exciting part. The NFL should enact a rule that you can't make the playoffs if you finish below .500 for the season.
Wasn't there a Grey Cup a few years ago with a team that went 4-14 in the regular season?

Problem is teams that won divisions under .500 have actually won a playoff game.

That's the point. It would prevent that from happening.

but why though if you are a wild card and you cannot beat a below .500 team, maybe you shouldn't be in.

What happens in a freak year where say only three division winners are over .500, and no teams in WC are either (highly unlikely but who knows). What do you do then, just have three teams in the post season?

It seems silly to have a division winner in under .500 but to give a blanket no playoffs if under .500 is to paraphrase your boy Rubio, a silly response.
