OT: Politics & News... Have at it.

actually lecoq, with Ted it could be so. With Cruz he loves to throw some bombs out there, and then watch reactions I'm quite sure. In that sense he's like Obama, as aghast as you might be by that comparison. Cruz gets his base going with stuff no one else will support for the most part, sound familiar? In fact Ted is the anti-Obama and if only for that, I am getting a kick out of watching the left losing it over an at best 2nd tier candidate.

Here's a nice primer btw, on all potential 2016 Presidential hopefuls, their positions, their votes, where they stand on issues and their favorite ice cream.

yes I've seen that before. But what the hell, I watched it again since you offered. ;)

Actually I think they all make fools out of themselves at different points. Though Begala of all people, was smart enough to keep his head down more than Stewart and Howdy Doody (his name escapes me for now). But Stewart did score the best of blows, wit and all....His best point about how the MSM is bad for America. I agree it's often veneer thin and invariably partisan of course. Regarding Stewart wanting the hard and meaningful questions from the press posed to politicians. He's a bit naive on that one. You gotta kiss ass to earn the right to ask questions or interview. No surprise questions if you value your career. Some of the best shots come at the daily WH press briefings, but then again those questions are directed to the WH press secretary, the master of deceptions.

and this candid report from, you'd never guess....MSNBC. Traditional allies no longer trusting President Barry and kept out of the loop on a Saudi led effort to fight off Iranian backed Houthi's in Yemen, which incidentally was recently hailed by Obama as an anti terror success story.....one of the many withering jewels of his foreign policy failures.

Yeah, none of that matters. Obamanites still think he walks on water. The fact his propaganda state run MSNBC news outlet is now mentioning issues just means his feet are starting to get wet.

I'd vote for JEB. Seriously. When he was governor of Florida I made the most money. Yes, it's all about the Benjamins so take all your other bleeding heart issues and vote for some candy ass like Obama.

Ted Cruz on the other hand is just way too idiotic to even contemplate being in a Primary let alone on an actual ticket.

Reasonable people can disagree about a lot of things... taxes, health policy, crime, foreign affairs, etc. There is a platform for an evidence-based debate.

But coercive Kristian wackdongery is way off the charts, this is Tabliban-lite shit. Hard-line certainty over ephemeral and misty notions of... whatever... yikes. It's a short road from there to some really bad places.

I should stress, I'm not in disbelief of his actual views (we all know they are out there), but rather that he's wearing it on his sleeve politically. I'm amazed at the tactical calculus. It seems to me he's more interested in creating permanent unicorns-are-real-cult-like status, à la Ron Paul, than actually holding office or having the responsibility for real decisions. We all know the Daddy Warbucks wing of the GOP would never tolerate this crazt shit - it cramps their style.

He's after the bible-belters. It is not a road to success.

His next trick will be re-implementing the inquisition.

The Islamist strategy is clear...keep them fighting against each other until one faction gets too strong...then move in and even the playing field.. I dont think it matters who is in power.

Spoken like a true Republican. "As long as I get my money I couldn't care less if the rest of society starves to death"

But at least you're honest about your greed and you don't try to pretend that you have Christian values unlike Republican politicians.

I'm not a true Republican. A true Republican these days apparently accepts asshats like Cruz. I'm a true capitalist.

Your boy Nutandyahoo has been saying Iran is "near" a nuclear weapon for 20+ years and they are no closer. Seems your boy is full of shit.

Righhhttt. And the Saudis don't believe it either right? Also, Israel has been trying to delay that process for a while. Yes they are closer. Do you think Israel and the Saudis don't share intelligence? So the entire middle east is nervous, but Count thinks everything will be ok. That's quite reassuring coming from a ticket lawyer in BC.

They might be close, they might not be. Ultimately, they won't be using it on me, so I am not all that worried. It is more likely than not you won't be bombed either unless you move to Israel, and even then, I suspect that Iran will never use and illegal weapon out of fear of Israel using its illegal nuclear weapons against its people.

It is not a major worry for me and shouldn't be for you either.

As an aside, if you think "ticket" lawyer is somehow a putdown, you need to try again.
