OT: Politics & News... Have at it.

To paraphrase Bush partisans circa 2004:

"But But But...Harper protected us from terrorists"

I've never been at an election HQ on an election night but I imagine I would just get hammered whether the candidate won or lost.

Poor result for the country to have a majority. We'd be better with a minority (And i said the same in 2011).

unchecked power is an issue.

Elections every 6 months are a waste also.

We had a minority government from 2006 - 2011 and had a total of 1 extra election in that 5 year span than we would have had with a 2006 majority. Lets give up the every 6 months narrative, cause the last time it happened that we went 6 months was the early 80s

That's because the Liberals were a mess and had real difficulty rebuilding.

I have no issue with what Harper did in his 10 years but the money promised during this campaign by all the leaders including Harper himself was awful. If a minority was formed then there was a good chance of another election next year as none of the parties wanted to work together. At least with a majority Trudeau has the power to reneg on some of his promises knowing he can't get brought down.

I voted for JT but halfway thru this speech, I'm already sick of him. Will have to press the mute button for the next 4 yrs and hope the policies work out.

I honestly can't watch him because I fear the day he will tell Putin to his face to stop being so mean. Will Vlad slap him silly or bust out laughing?
