you gotta move, man

My brother left Quebec and lives near Habsy in Florida. He is 29 and has a slight majority interest in a company that employs over 1000 people, an online website. That would have never been possible for him to do in Quebec, and he left primarily due to the politics. That's right, he now pays more income and corporate tax than several small suburbs, which this province now has lost. I have a love/hate relationship with this province. I live in a great part of the city (West Island), I love my neighbors and area, I just hate the politics with this province. It just drives the middle/upper class, professionals + entrepreneurs outside.

her son 'wanted to help, wanted to make a difference' she said. So he dies fighting for ISIS.

I can see where he got his stupid from.

"He was compelled to go there to help save women and children to stop the torture, to stop Bashar al-Assad and that's what drew him there and as he told me, 'I'm finally doing something productive in my life, mum,' " Boudreau said

Lol so he ended up joining a jihad terrorist organization that kills/rapes/enslaves women and kills innocent people ...

Louis, even you must admit that it has not been a job killer nor bad in an overall sense.

A few people couldn't keep their crap plans, OMG

you must be talking about the part time job boon in the USA.

no the fact the right wing reactionaries who hate the fact everyone gets health care now stated that millions would lose their jobs, that didn't happen

Ultimately hard for anyone in Canada to argue that others should not have health care n'est ce pas?

so terribly important for you to label people that don't agree with you. You are very small for a large mouth that insists on framing this as a black and white issue, which is so atypical for nuanced thinking liberal. The issue never has been about people getting healthcare. It's the ACA as written and the lies it took to sell it that's at fault. Smarten up.

as for everyone getting healthcare, they haven't. Look up your facts.

The only way you don't have health care in the USA now is if you do not sign up for it. That is on the person who does not sign up.

ACA was going to pass "lie" or not. It will be Obama's one definite legacy. All Americans now have access to health care coverage, they didn't before.

Straw man.

The fact that not everyone has healthcare yet is irrelevant. Millions more Americans have coverage today who didn't have it before the ACA was brought in. And if it were up to the GOP, none of these people would be covered. Republicans don't support affordable healthcare of any sort because they're in the pockets of the lobbyists. They don't support healthcare, they don't support raising the minimum wage, they don't support anything that might help the less fortunate get themselves out of poverty. All they care about is making sure that a few uber-wealthy a-holes don't have to pay taxes. The ACA isn't perfect, but it's miles better than anything you'd see under a GOP administration.

In my view, the ACA didn't go far enough. It should be a single-payer system where every man woman and child is covered. For a country as rich and prosperous as the US to do any less is immoral.

Correct, you have to sign up for it. However, we were told between 30-50 million people in the USA were uninsured prior to the ACA. As it stands 2 sign up periods later, about 11 million of these uninsured people have applied. The 11 million is also a deceptive number since a large portion of those newly insured are covered by medicaid rather than Obamacare.

So why aren't those other 20-40 million signing up? Maybe it isn't so hot shit. I can tell you one clear reason people haven't signed up, is because of the prohibitive the co-pay that screws the poorest most of all, putting them in the position of not only paying a monthly premium, they also have to pony up the first $5000 or more in copay annually, before the insurance actually kicks in. The lobbyist insurance companies love these plans.

And you guys think this helps the poor? They're better off paying the fine for lack of insurance, and going to the hospital and getting treated the way the used to....which is what they're doing.
