OT: The M-Fing Food Thread

Never had a bad experience there; I also like Cumbraes. Those are my main moves. Can't remember the last time I bought a steak at Loblaw's...and I live a 2min walk from one. To be fair, I'm sure their steak is fine.
Neither did I until I did a delivery order. I definitely like to go into shops but have been avoiding it like the plague (literally). I don't want to bad mouth them, 'cause I've shopped in the Kennsington store from early on and everything has been fantastic for years.

My absolute favourite steak for the grill.
 
To be clear, you would eat (and savor) that thick strip of fat on the side of those steaks?
Nah, I like to cut it so I get a nice chunk with each bite. But I have no problem eating fat off the cap on its own if the situation demands it. I was mostly exaggerating ... the real key is what presto said, getting nicely marbled steak/roasts.

What is that situation that demands it, I want to know. For me it would be having survived a plane crash in the snowy mountains and people starting to munch on the bodies of the people who didn't make it.

I had a situation just last night. We were eating a nice prime rib and there's almost always that nub that has nothing but fat. There's often a good cut of it through the middle too. Most people, to my dismay, leave it on the plate.
 
I've only enjoyed Picanha in restaurants, is there a "trick" for making it at home?
 
Here's another LOF fave that will probably surprise: bone marrow.

Fucking delicious! Too bad it isn't on the menu of most places, and comes in generally small quantities. I could eat a pound of it at a sitting.
