It's not a joke when you're saying several other things that I didn't say and completely missing the point. Yeah, I know you were exaggerating on that last point, but it was no less outlandish than your other statements.

I don't care about Uganda. It isn't completely irrelevant because that's where his family comes from, but all I was pointing out is that he's not from Gaza such that the Palestinian question is so central to his core being from such a young age. And if you think he loves gays, when it goes against literally everything about him (including where his family is from), then you can believe that.

If I don't give you a random list of predictions of things that an Israel-hating socialist/communist is going to do, then the valid concerns about him from his own statements and actions don't have validity? Such nonsense, man.

I guess you still don't have any idea of what democratic socialism is, eh? It's too bad you think we're such a backwards socialist-communist disgrace up here in Canada, despite being from here and therefore knowing better. If New York becomes 25% more like Canada, that is not something to be feared.

At any rate, please just consider that you may be a little overboard in your vitriol here. I certainly acknowledge that I can be wrong about anything - he could do a terrible job, but this idea you have of one mayor destroying New York followed by the USA is absurd, and is NEVER going to happen.

Let's see where we're at in a year or two - I promise you NYC will still be there, and 90% of the problems it is experiencing that are politician-related will be because of Trump, not Mamdani.

I mean you keep calling yourself moderate but I haven't shared a single thought on this guy one way or another. You are simply a victim of systematic fear mongering on social media and it has led to your extremist views. I'm highly skeptical of his policies and ideas so it's not even about that. I just find it comical and a bit sad that you're so afraid of him.

Well, that will be argued regardless of the truth, and any impact from Mamdani, we know that much.

I know NYC will be there, but it will be a worse place in every respect. The local economy will suffer from these policies, crime will rise precipitously if his police garbage actually gets implemented, radical islam will be given room to grow and to take further root, and Jews will see hate speech and hate crimes go undeterred and unpunished. If you want a prediction, that's the best I can offer.

He won't destroy the US by his hand, but his election to mayor of the most important city in the country will continue to pave the wave for the decay and destruction of western ideals everywhere.

I think if you don't have the Jewish background, some simply have a tough time either seeing or accepting the red flags as real and imminently dangerous. And that's really all it boils down to. You think this is radicalism-driven concern and I think you're asleep and turning a blind eye to clear and present dangers being telegraphed to us in a climate of an awful rise in hate and violence.

The ironing here is that the vast majority of anti semetism in the US comes from people who rant about western ideals being under attack.

ah there we go. specific predictions.

- worse local economy
- huge crime increase
- increase in radical islam
- more unpunished anti semitism

ok.

here's my predictions.

- he's gonna freeze the rent on that small amount of rent controlled housing that he can
- he will build those grocery stores in low income neighborhoods
- he's gonna get some small increases in rich people's taxes, but not much
- he's gonna go out of his way to protect jews
- islam will be unaffected
- local economy will be unaffected
- crime will be unaffected
- the gop will be entirely nazi by the end of his mayorship

let's see who wins.
