OT: The M-Fing Food Thread

From my experience doing strict keto for a year or so, I never really found an acceptable substitute for pasta. After trying a bunch of substitutes, I just shrugged and took it out of my diet. I haven't tried kelp though, so maybe I'll try that this time. But my expectations are super low.

Yeah, truth be told, just dive in and forget trying to create a fascimile of carb food you love.

I mean, the sad excuses some people have for bread. It's hard enough to find good real bred, the attempt to make it unnaturally is typically awful.

This I agree with... maybe one day science will develop beyond pasta

I love my pasta sauce though. I’m not giving it up.
You don't have to. I make my same old tomato meat sauce I love and more often eat it out of a bowl than bother with the noodles. Or, you can pour your sauce over something else ... like a nice juicy slab of meat.

No bread to dip?!? I’m not ready for chili style eating. I put it over chicken breast but still leaves me wanting.

I've gotten over having bread to dip (and I fucking loved doing that). It just takes a bit of patience. Sopping up good stuff can be done with other things.

You can find decent bread that is relatively low carb. There's a dark rye I can get (comes in light too) that has about 20 grams of carb per slice. Just have to watch the other carbs that day.
