OT: The M-Fing Food Thread

i mean i should have known better but i really did think subway was a healthy-ish choice back in the day as long as you avoided the fancy buns and too much sauce. pretty depressing to see that it's literal horseshit.

It's not our fault, it was masterfully marketed horseshit that appears healthy-ish vs. a greasy double cheeseburger or whatever.

I found the smell of their bread off-putting; only ate there once or twice in my life.

I didn't mind Quiznos but they went bankrupt; they could not compete with Subway's low prices.

Quiznos management were clearly idiots with their strategy of buying half decent ingredients.

I stopped eating subway long ago because it always put me in a food coma. It wasn't until years later that I found out it was all the sugar they use. My body doesn't deal well with sugar. Those fuckers.

common practice behind healthy marketing BS is take out the tasty fat, replace it with sugar...and claim LOW FAT

True true. I have a thing where I have to go to McDonalds in every city I visit to try one of their unique menu items despite never even doing McDonalds here. And the unique menu item is never good. But I'll never stop doing it. It's simply mandatory.
oh man that is totally my thing! although I usually get whatever is closest to the country's Big Mac. Jordan was a fascinating one haha.

not as common these days; though I had a Mr sub at their ACC spot years ago...quality has gone down for sure

Mr. Sub was my first.
I can still remember the first bite of a heated-up roast beef with mozzarella, down in the Junction one night when I was like 4 or 5.
Right up there in my top food memories.
(nothing beats rice-krispie squares...like how they fuck are we not eating these every day mom?)

Now, I know there's one in Bradford but yeah, I don't see them around.

Mr sub is still around in most suburbs. Atleast two or three of them in burlington.

Roughly the same number of locations in canada as harveys has.

it's all part of a conglomerate...nothing wrong with that per se; I still enjoy Big Smoke Burger (though it's not as good)
