OT: The News Thread

Somehow I don't think we're gonna convince each other to prefer a particular temperature/moisture level.

I'm in DPs camp tho. Humidity makes me grossly uncomfortable. I can handle cold just fine but it mostly sucks too.. "Cool" is the sweet spot of shared risk.

I’ve always disliked high humidity but could manage it until we finally got air conditioning in the ‘80’s. Now I can barely tolerate any temp (or feels like) over 25 degrees.

Anyone who hasn't lived in real winter (lol GTA), or at minimum a snow belt winter should stfu when talking about winter.

I don't mean visited the snow belt to ski or snowmobile a few times, but actually lived in a constant foot deep layer of brown slush for 4 months or weeks straight of -20 to -40 or more.

Fuck winter.

Excessive humidity is gross though, no arguments there.

I was in Vallarta for most of October a few years ago (the crescendo of their rainy season) and it's obscene. 30ish celsius with like 80-90% humidity. Thoroughly uncomfortable to be out in for very long.

But anything in the mid 20's to low 30's with manageable humidity is pretty ideal.

the issue is most humans have learned to hate sweating, when sweating is awesome and is nature's built in air conditioner. Just be comfortable sweating and the heat is awesome. also, wear less and lighter clothing.

nature has not built in any heaters, tho.

All about acclimatizing….A/C makes people way more sensitive to heat for sure.

these have been the conditions in hali recently, when it's not pissing rain.

and even when it's pissing rain, it's 20+ degrees with 99% relative humidity. so just as sweaty, functionally (if you wear a raincoat)

I’ve gone backwoods camping in -30 temps. Aside from my whiskey freezing solid, it was fun as hell.

Winter rules.

LGM is a real honky. I'm not even close to being there there but I respect those that can do the cracker life. For some reason that respect doesn't extend to people who enjoy sweaty humid gross pig weather.

Sounds perfect.
