you are one person. Israel is a nation.

Does Hamas threaten individual israelis in the sense that they make it more likely for an israeli to be bombed? Yes. Do they pose any real threat to the state of israel's existence or sovereignty? No.

Sure, if Hamas gets a "WMD" then they are a threat to Israel, but nothing that Israel is doing is an effective deterrent or defence against that happening.

Yup. It's one of my personal favourites. I actually agree with a lot of Diamond's theories for human evolution and how society was predicated as much on climatic and geographical design as it was other factors. Perhaps that's why the Boers and English settlers did so well in South Africa (given its Mediterranean climate) whereas we fared so poorly in other environments.

i also like diamond alot. he is very much a geographic determinist, kinda like harold innis is too.
