I call a country that elects it's officials a democracy, yes.

And I'd choose to deal with them rather than countries with raging lunatic leaders like Iran, or crazy ass-backwards clerics and mullahs.

Why is it an either or proposition?

Why would we deal with any government made up of raging lunatics? And yes Virginia, the Israeli government has a significant percentage of raging lunatics. A guy even you wouldn't piss on if he was on fire is the current kingmaker in the Knesset. Lieberman, look him up.

Lieberman is special though....

Social Darwinism (and actual biological Darwinism). We had superior immune systems and killed off most of the Natives before we even met them.
