It's absolutely assinine to suggest that the the violence we're witnessing is becuase of the police presense. If police weren't there could you imagine the carnage that the black bloc would unleash upon the city? Christ, these people are nothing more than cowardly vidals.
What's even worse is the so called peaceful demonstrators who steadfastly refuse to out these insolent little bastards, and claim that any violence is the result of police presense.

They are all pathetic.

Just like how most of the cop-haters on this board made that determination because of one bad cop.

Claudia Calabro, of the Toronto Community Mobilization Network, blamed today’s violence on police presence.

“People are angry when you pen them in,” she said. “The marshalling was extremely poor. The excessive police presence has completely bulldozed our message.”

Ms. Calabro said the group opposes the G20 and would not denounce the tactics of protesters.

a) Look around you - see a massive fence? Don't go near it.
b) Don't go downtown and wander the streets if you have no real reason to be there.
c) If you are ridiculous and ignored a) and b) then just show the cop your ID and turn back.

So essentially, don't be an idiot and don't go and pick a fight with the cops this weekend. You won't win.

Yeah, let's round up everyone on the streets of downtown because some *******s lit a police car on fire and broke some windows.

You'd fit it in beautifully in Germany, Spain or Italy circa 1936.

Uh, why are they just letting that guy kick in the windows on a police car but they are charging and training their guns on a bunch of harmless looking people in Queen's Park.

Reporter is right - they are letting this guy do this. No way they can't stop that.

That's just laughable. They leave a car parked in the middle of Queen West, guy just gets up in front of cameras and a crowd and starts kicking out the windows and then lights the car on fire without any intervention whatsoever.

Meanwhile, there's 10 cops for every bystander/protester everywhere else in the city.

Ah, will make for good front page photos tomorrow.

They didn't round up everyone. They told them to get the **** off the streets, and yes, because a pair of police cars have been lit ablaze.

I honestly think that we should form a Citizen's Brigade of sorts to protect the poperty in this community (ala the Hell's Angels that escort military dead in the US against protesters) to ensure that public property like this is never destroyed or defaced again.

It's actually looking like that's starting to happen. On CP24, they're showing video of a bunch of locals defending a Starbucks on Queen street that had its windows smashed, and was starting to get looted by a bunch of morons.

what a revolting collection of human scum. the cops need to make every effort to grab those black-clad motherf*ckers who are torching cars and smashing windows and they need to put them in a cell indefinitely.

there is nothing in their "message" that mitigates the depravity of their actions. they are all like little wannabe jokers from batman- they have no legitimate beefs, they simply want to create chaos. they need to be confronted, jailed, and punished to show those who would sympathize with them how high a price they will pay if they want to do the same.

btw- notice in one of those pictures up there how one of the "protesters" was wearing a palestinian headscarf? have i not told you that those flotilla a$$holes, anarchist wastoids, islamofascists, and radical lefty "poverty activists" are all pretty much cut from the same cloth?

well it turns out the (some)black-clad anarchists were in the park when the police surrounded them and made some arrests....guess they know what they are doing afterall.
