I don't think much of Zion's wing skills tbh, I don't disagree with Geeman there for the time being. I think against soft defensive schemes he can use his speed and power to get to the rim because he's just that level of an athlete, but I don't love his handles and though he can knock down an open 3, I don't see him as a premier threat from there any time soon. Wonky form with a bad, low release point. He's going to be streaky out there.
Open court in transition he's already one of the most dangerous players in the league, mid to low post he's already stupid to deal with, especially because of the match up problems he presents. Anyone who is athletic enough to stay in front of him is 230 or lighter. Anyone strong enough to keep from getting bullied isn't fast enough to stay in front of him.
I've watched a bunch of his first two games and there are some warts though. He gets lost on the defensive end, a lot. More than is even normal for a rookie at this phase of his career. I don't know if he's over extending looking for weak side block opportunities or what, and I do expect this to improve as he get acclimated to the NBA but he definitely isn't entering the league with a particularly high basketball IQ. On the offensive end it's kind of similar. He spends a lot of time looking like he's not sure where to be, how to space, etc. I'll reserve judgement because we're only 2 games deep, but he's definitely not a natural from the IQ standpoint.
