OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

It’s too bad the Knicks didn’t give us Barrett + Quickley for Siakam instead. OG is kinda the piece we’re missing now.

If you squint I suppose you can see a path where Jarace Walker has an OG level upside. Maybe a bit more offensively, probably less defensively. Likely waiting another year or 2 before he comes into his own and can contribute.

I still would prefer Keegan as I like that shot making ability.

How would you rank the 3 most rumored center pieces; Kuminga, Keegan, Walker. All are high draft picks. All are that SF/PF type.
I dont think Keegan is realistic.

You could also just admit that Jake is pretty okay defensively and that the two guys we're using to cover his loss are okay back of the rotation options but aren't enough to make up for his loss because he's pretty okay and makes an overall positive impact on winning.
They win both games with Jake

Eh? It was Fred and 4 guys who were all 6'8. Short PG, but no centre. Now it's Dennis/Quickley, 3 long switchable wings, and a centre that you dislike. The front office very clearly told us what they were trying to do at the time.

I'm sorry but when was that?

Backcourts:

20-21: Lowry 6'0, Fred 6'0, (Norm 6'4/Gary 6'5)
21-22: Fred 6'0, Gary 6'4, (Flynn 6'0)
22-23: Fred 6'0, Gary 6'4, (Flynn 6'0)

Can't be a "longboi" experiment when you have the shortest backcourt in the league.

Yeah, I think the Lakers do things differently if Jake is in and don't force the ball to AD in the post nearly as much. Jake obviously doesn't win that matchup, but he keeps AD from going for 40/11/6 on 13 of 17, which would have been enough imo.

Last night I think he helps limit the Clippers on the offensive glass enough to maybe change the game.

Yup , Jake is a good player and brings 100% of what this team is lacking

Listen, I'll be the first to admit that if Payton Pritchard is leading your team in minutes and scoring, you're in a world of hurt.

Was actually a pretty good night around the league for us

- Lakers got pumped by the Suns, Beal & Booker went off for 68. Tough to win games when you're got getting gifted freebies.
- Knicks lose, Celtics lose, Nets lose but it took 45 from Spider because he doesn't have a lot of help there right now.

Reid is a bench player analytics darling on one of the best teams in the league. He's going to get overrated.

My list, right now:

- Luka
- Tyrese
- Antman
- Scottie
- Sengun
- Maxey
- Morant
- Zion
- Chet
- Ball
- JJJ
- Wemby
- Jalen Johnson
- Jalen Williams
- IQ
- Anfernee Simons
- Herro
- Wagner
- Reid
- Mobley
- Banchero
- Garland
- Keegan
- RJ Barrett
- Cade
- Jalen Green
- Jaime Jaquez Jr
- Brandon Miller

For clarity, that's not in order of who I think is most valuable, or who will be best in 1-2-3 years. If I needed to win a game today and got to pick one of those guys, that's the order I would pick them in.

I don't really get it. I guess it saves money but Dejounte is only 2yrs younger than Siakam and swapping them would leave us pretty unbalanced.

Saves 20 million a year, 2 years is 2 years, and I don't see why we would be imbalanced. We're playing RJ/Scottie at the 2/3 when they could easily play the 3/4. Dejounte and Quickley can both play both guard spots.

You yourself said RJ played like a PF....well, either he or Scottie (the 6'8-6'9 guy who just spent 2 nights bullying Lebron and Kawhi) are playing SG right now. Scottie is a pretty natural modern Point 4, and RJ is probably best suited to spot up corner 3's and baseline cuts rather than ball handling above the break.
