OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Given that it's us and Atlanta allegedly involved, I have to assume that the price is a 1st and expiring salary from us and a 1st plus a player who has some years if it's Atlanta.

Pacers 2026 1st + Brown + Boucher or Kelly works

LAL 2025 1st + Capela + Nance if they want all expiring
LAL 2025 1st + Hunter + Nance if they see De'Andre Hunter as an asset...he was probably negative value last year, but has been a good scoring 6th man this season so who knows.
Were you reading Grange?

Should’ve just kept and paid Siakam if that’s the deal we’re going to turn around and make.

Last year I agreed with this, today I don't. Ingram's next deal sounds like it's going to be in the same range as what we've got Quickley signed to, and he's 27. I take 27 yr old BI at 4/140 over 30 yr Pascal at 4/180.

If Pascal was willing to stay for 32-36 million I would have been cool with him staying.

The injury stuff is a concern, yeah. But I think BI remains really tradeable around that number if we decide to pull the pin 2-3 years into the deal.

The difference is that Ingram doesn't play the same position as Barnes. Plus he is a better pure scorer.

Yeah, that's big too. Positionally BI would sort out our starting 5.

C - Jake
PF - Scottie
SF - Ingram
SG - RJ
PG - IQ

Ingram kind of does everything pretty well, nothing great other than his scoring from within 16 feet which is legit very efficient. When he was asking for max money I wanted no part of that, but I keep hearing ~35M and he might even be cool with shorter term (2 yr + PO) so he can try to cash in one more time while still more or less in his prime.

Regarding the injury bit, I think the logic here would be that the Pelicans are some combination of inept and cursed. Everyone breaks there for some fucking reason. Even a guy like Dejounte Murray who spent his entire career pretty healthy plays 31 games in New Orleans and blows out his achilles.

fwiw, I could see one of two trade packages for BI working.

2026 Pacers 1st + Brown + Olynyk
2025 Blazers 2nd + 2026 Raptors 2nd + Brown + Boucher

I don't think we'll give up that Pacers 1st if they don't take Kelly in return. The salaries in the summer would push us into the tax after we extended Ingram. Now, we could just trade salary in the summer....but probably easier to just move Kelly now.

The first will be whichever is worse of the 2 2026 1sts we have. The 2nd, dunno...either this year's Portland, or ours next season. Hopefully next season's.
