OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Yeah, Bellinger seems more like a guy to circle back on if the insane long term deal isn’t there. That mlbtraderumors prediction of 12 years is crazy stuff, but if that contract is out there, let someone else give it to him.

The problem is the market sucks. He’s not in the circle back tier

He's like 1/7th of an Ohtani. Who even cares? Pocket change.
Rogers wasn't convinced to offer Ohtani 700M ish for baseball reasons.

I cant see this front office thinking 200M plus for Bellinger to patrol LF is a good idea ( cause its not)

Chapman is actually a cheaper, and better fit, you can then sign one of the DH's ( Soler, JDM, Hoskins) and find a decent platoon in LF, like Joc/Duvall, or hell bring Teo back, or a trade for a Kepler.

3B is the hardest to fill if you dont sign Chapman. What are you gonna do, trade for India? He's a 2B and bad. Trade with the Rays for Paredes? I mean sure, but he's a fly ball happy soft contact guy. Mattingly will fuck him, and the Rays will steal the next best thing you didnt think was a thing. That leaves what, Gio Urshela? like, im okay with that if you are stacked in LF/DH, but gah, the market sucks.

The main problem with Bellinger is that he's waster in LF or we run a sub optrimal defensive OF and Varsho is wasted again.

I’m not really interested in any of the FA DH options. J.D. Martinez is the only guy that moves the needle beyond what Belt gave them, but he could also fall off a cliff. If the plan is to win in the next two years before Bo and Vladdy walk, then he probably has to be the guy.

I think all of JDM, Soler and Hoskins offer interesting bats at the DH slot. I mean if you even just get what Belt gave you, bring Chapman back and hope his stick isn't terrible, then you improve (offensively) on KK. I mean, the guys who left, save for Whit were all kinda good. They are between a rock and a hard spot with this crop of available things.

No interest in Turner, Brantley or Votto.
