Yup. Sometimes the right pick is the easy pick and trying to baseball hipster your way into a Greg Zaun jersey is silly.

If I was getting a purple dino throwback Raptors jersey, Vince is the obvious pick, TMac if I was feeling spicy, Oakley at the absolute edgiest. I'm not going to hipster my way into an Alvin Williams or Dell Curry.

My lasting memory of Zaun is the Trumpian excuse he came up with for being named in the Mitchell report.

After refusing to talk about it for a few weeks while his PR people could come up with something, the story Zaun eventually landed on was that he lost a bet on a basketball game to Jason Grimsley, and to pay him he handed a cheque for $500, but left the name blank. Grimsley then used that check to buy steroids. Ok.

My hesitation with Delgado, and i get this is silly. Is i remember him in that 98 jersey, the blue and red Clemens era way more than i do the Black/Silver, i think he only had it for 1-2 seasons? Its the same reason im not really considering Jose/EE. I feel like that era for many reasons is forgotton, but alot of fun Jays wore it for most of their time here, like Doc, Wells and Burnett, and some fun one offs like Rolen, Stairs, Zaun,

The players I picture in that uniform are guys like Wells, Rios, Doc, Hill and then also Marcum and McGowan. Those guys were supposed to lead the Jays to greatness.

Yeah, this tracks for me as well. Only reason i am strongly, strongly considering Rolen, is cause he wore it, and is one of my fave non Jays, that just happened to be a Jay.

I have a blank Red Sox and Rays as well, and leaning Ramirez or Pedro, and Carl Crawford, just cause the era of this one doesn't allow for Pena/Zobrist/Rodney, the only other notable Rays during the period i have are like Aubrey Huff, fringe end of career Fred McGriff, Greg Vaughn and Esteban Yan

The player i really want, that has escaped me is Beltre, but i already have a Texas ( Josh Hamilton, which i bought already stitched) and it would be weird IMO putting him on Boston, mainly cause the name doesnt actually go on it, and mostly cause he's barely a Red Sock

No nothing like that, it started by just getting players i love that arent Jays, and blossomed into a collection where i'd like at least one from every team. Im missing two.

I have never worn anything but a Jays jersey to an actual game, or like Jays viewing.

Yeah, my issue there, is my only Dodgers at the moment is filled with Jackie Robinson. I could convince myself that Brooklyn and LAD are different entities and get another LAD, then the issue becomes Beltre vs the wide wide range of Dodgers ive liked over the years.
