OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Vogelbach is amusing, but Barger actually has the potential to be an everyday player, so I’d rather see Barger get reps.

I don’t think KK or Turner have much trade value, but they’re not DFA-level bad. Should be able to get a lottery ticket prospect with some hopefully hidden upside at least.

They’re in the danger zone for terrible organizational decisions right now. Only 3.5 games out of the third wildcard, but also terrible, three teams ahead of them and Tampa and Houston both a hot streak away from putting the WC out of reach.

It’s exactly the situation where a GM desperate to save his job will make decisions that set the franchise even further back.

This team just feels like a stale piece of shit that should've been flushed a while ago.

Not sure I even care to see if Vlad and Bo can re-emerge.

I'm good with firing these cunts, trading literally everyone, and just stocking the organization with high end prospects and starting over.

The last couple of years, it's felt like the Jays don't exist, like totally irrelevant and no direction.
 
I dont think im fully against a full rebuild, but i sure as shit am if these guys are doing it.

Also, i dont think there is anything we can trade off this roster that would net us a top top prospect.

The returns for 1.5 years of Bo and Vlad are going to be shockingly bad to the fairweather fan.

Yeah, you're basically getting a few more Barger type options for Vlad and Bo at this point. Not even sure if it's worth it though.
 
Are we extending them then? Are they even open to extending with us?

How did the Leafs and Jays both have superstars they drafted with all this optimism and in different ways both went to total shit somehow.
 
They should extend both Vlad and Bo. Money is obviously not an issue. They’re paying $80 million this year for a combined 1.5 WAR from Springer, Bassit, Turner, Kiermaier and Green. Who cares if Bo and Vladdy are a bit overpaid, they will still be two of the best players on the team for a long time.

I’d sell off as many short and medium term players as possible. Sign Vlad and Bo. Keep all the prospects and try to build a decent team for 2026-2028 window. Obviously Ross Atkins should not be in charge of that.

To be clear, i want a new regime extending Vlad and probably Bo ( this one still makes me nervous) Ross at best should be allowed to make deciisons on our RP, Turner, KK and Kikuchi as the returns are pretty straightforward for each.

Yeah, this.

Bo I think I can live with extending. I can see him sort of like the next Semien - move him to 2b and he might be more than good defensively there to still be a worthwhile piece for a while.
