Wasn't MLB the sport where you'd gather up a few amazing prospects every single year and stockpile them until either you roll them out or (if you're a contending team) trade them away at the deadline.

How did these guys basically have nothing? And how are they still here??
 
yeah MLB prospects have a super high bust rate which is why AA's strategy of stockpiling highly regarded pitching prospects and then using them as trade capital to acquire MLB-ready players was fucking great asset management.

Let’s revisit at the end of the year, see whether the elite defensive C with a 103wrc+ at the moment ends up more valuable than the elite defensive OF with a 90wrc+ so far this year.

But nice to see you don’t contest that Moreno was better right away.

But yeah, let's see which elite defender gets more fWAR playing their preferring position - Varsho now moving to centre with KK waived. centre = more war.

Also...don't forget years of control. Varsho is eligible for free agency in 2027, Moreno not until 2029. I've been assured that years of control are super important.
