OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

yeah now Burnes/Fried and one more good reliever.

leave the hitting alone for now. no elite bats our there anymore and lots of borderline and younger guys who are interesting enough to give a shot to. if we're any good by the deadline and have a need then try to add a hitter then.

You need one hitter. OF is especially trash.

Im fine with Clement/Wagner/Horowitz/Jimenez making up 2B/3B

They have to get a legit power hitter. No question about it.

Teo would be very nice.

Inject Springer with all kinds of drugs. Worst case scenario he is suspended.

I'm fine with Roden/Lukes/Schneider/Barger fighting over LF/4OF. You could even throw in Loeprfido and Clase in that mix if you're a fan of them.

If there was an elite bat out there th3n sure.

Steamer Projections:

1B Guerrero 154wrc+
DH Horwitz 123
C Kirk 120
SS Bichette 117
RF Springer 109
CF Varsho 100

2B Wagner 118 / Stefanic 109 / Schneider 103 / Jimenez 99 / Orelvis 96
LF Roden 110 / Lukes 105 / Schneider 103 / Barger 103 / Schreck 101 / (Clase 85 / Loperfido 84)
3B Clement 102 / Barger 103 / Jimenez 99 / Orelvis 96

Free Agents

OF Santander 119
OF Teoscar 113

Neither with any defensive value at all.

Actually the one free agent hitter that would be interesting would be Bregman who projects at 122 with good defense. But he's not exactly a power bat.

Cards are looking to move Nolan Arenado so he could be an option at 3B. Glove used to be elite and probably still pretty good, but the bat has always underperformed the advanced stats and just 16 HR last year so he's definitely on the decline. Could still pop 20-25 though. Steamer has him down for 22 HR and a 106wRC+. Could be an option if they eat a bunch of salary.

Bunch of teams in on Bregman so it would probably take a massive overpay there.

He wouldn’t come to Toronto. Guaranteed his buddy Chapman told him to stay far away from this dumpster fire

If Horwitz and Wagner are actually 123 and 118 wrc+ bats, then yeah, the need for another bat is less. But I don't necessarily trust that from them. Those LF numbers are sketch too, so I do think Santander in for LF makes a lot of sense.

i mean there's no reason to think that the projections are biased in favor of the jays. maybe most flop but i'd take the chance given the likely price for non-elite bats. much rather pour the money into pitching where the projections really don't like our depth at all.

This team is so trash and in a tax threshold, like what a disaster this management is. Give that $240 mill to competant management and we’re a legit contender

Meh, let one of them replace Springer when we need to DFA him, or i dunno have an actual cromulent bench for once, but you need one legit stick

Trade for Taylor Ward, he is good.

I will say i have little to no interest in the Moncada/Torres/Kepler type of FA, and those losers reek of Atkins
