could end up being pretty clever swapping a 27yr old horwitz with half a good season as a good not great bat with little defensive value for a younger player who's already received MVP votes in his career.

I think it’s a really good trade but they need offense badly and this guy is another low obp subpar power bat.
 
tbh i feel this is probably leading to signing a bigger bat (something I don't really think will be a great spend) now that the DH spot is wide open.
