OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

There are different levels and surcharges to the luxury tax, so they can easily go over the first or second levels if they want to. Obviously they'd better not be done, but I don't think they are.

And in no world is Spencer Horwitz the "second best" hitter on a team with Vlad and Bo. I like him, but he is a 27 year old journeyman without enough power to be a full-time 1B or DH and horrific defensively at second base. This was objectively a pretty cheap price to pay for Gimenez, though Cleveland wanted to get out of that contract having just drafted 2B Travis Bazzana 1st overall, so it does make sense for both.

Meidroth is quite meh but I am fairly high on Gonzalez, one of those electric stuff with bad control arms with a lot of upside if he can harness the stuff.

Boston gets away with only trading 1 of their top 4 guys so it's great for them, but a pretty good haul for the White Sox here too.

Reality is for a guy like Loperfido

Probably too accomplished for AAA, but cant be counted on to start for a team planning on winning.

Maybe OF4 that gets runway while Varsho is hurt?

Loperfido as an OF4 I think makes sense. Especially if you bring in a bat-first LF, he can be the defensive replacement. Maybe you get lucky and the bat develops enough to let him play every day.

loperfido is junk imo.

good news is that we have a whole whack of more interesting and mostly younger guys that are better than him already.
