They’ve butchered this roster so bad. No position prospects have provided quality depth behind Vlad and Bo. None of the pitching prospects have developed into anything meaningful. How are these guys employed? Spending 200+ million to field a non contender is some seriously impressive incompetence.

I don't get why the Jays are so willing to throw a billion dollars at Soto and Ohtani, but so unwilling to give sensible deals to Bo and Vlad and instead walk them out the door.

Supposedly told someone on the Giants during the season that he would like to play for them, and I think he's from the Bay area as well. So they gotta be the frontrunner. But hopefully the Jays are trying to outbid.

The best guess is the Giants know they are bidding agaisnt themselves and aren't balking on their offer and the Jays are being the tried and true leverage play for an agent.

Cam Smith is a damn good prospect, but man that is otherwise a very underwhelming return. Just one year of Tucker though, and Astros obviously don't want to pay big bucks to impending FA's (let Springer and Correa walk in the past, and probably Bregman this year). So get something this time, I guess.
