OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

New York Yankees gifted a generational talent who chose to be a Yankee and wanted to stay, and walked him to free agency. (Aaron Judge)
New York Mets gifted a generational talent who chose to be a Met and wanted to stay, and walked him to free agency. (Pete Alonso)

Sometimes the player is determined to go to free agency. Sometimes they even end up-resigning with their original team.

Nimmala is still a bit too raw to get excited about as a prospect, but I really like the look of that short, compact swing. When you look at his numbers from the low minors (low contact, super high K, good power) it’s easy to think he is selling out to hit HR. Doesn’t seem to be the case.

Clement and Schneider went back-to-back. Both are tearing it up this spring, really outhitting everyone other than Roden.

No shortage of candidates for the last 4 roster spots.

yeah Wagner is the guy not hitting so well so far.

not that ST stats are worth a damn of course.

but good to see Schneider looking like a good hitter again no matter the competition. I still think there's a hitter there somewhere.

Agree that ST stats are useless, but when there are so many guys on the bubble, it might make sense to just go North with the hot hand. Of course that can change a lot between now and April.

Nimmala is a very interesting prospect. Would actually give the Jays an international presence if he makes it, as he'd be the first person of Indian descent to get to the majors. He played cricket as a kid, and could get an entire country interested, kind of like Ohtani.

He was very young for the level to start last year and struggled, so they sent him back to the complex to work on his swing. After he went back, he beasted in the second half.
