OT: True Crime

All an unfortunate coincidence, I'm sure.

Funny mushroom story: My sister hates mushrooms. Doesn't find them in the least bit interesting, edible, nothing. Hates everything about them.

Still, for some reason, took a class in college or something, might have even been an online course, who knows, about mushrooms. Wasn't a long class, didn't change anything for her.

Decided many years later (I'm talking close to a decade later) that she should try eating some mushrooms she found in the woods that "kinda looked like" (her words, not mine) the safe ones she was in her class.

Needless to say, she had a very rough 48 or so hours.
What the fuck - a person who doesn’t eat mushrooms decides the mushrooms to try are the ones they found while foraging in the woods?

Mushrooms are fantastic. And that mushroom risotto recipe from Serious Eats is incredible (and easy).
I've never tried shiitake mushrooms but if one enjoys "regular mushrooms", what are the chances one would like those kind of mushrooms? (obviously everyone has different tastes).

Regular as in cremini? Shitake will have less moisture, a more meaty texture, but a much more intense "earthy" flavor. Tbh they taste very different than cremini, as the earthy, "mushroomy" umami flavor is jacked up like 10x. I love 'em but they're not for everyone.

If your mushrooms 🍄 aren’t killin’…then git them outta my murder-porn thread.

Or 🔪🔪
So here’s an interesting story I saw today…

The lawyer who exonerated David Milgaard and Guy Paul Morin was just granted an appeal for his client who served 26 years for killing a 10 year old girl but the cops/prosecutors failed to turn over a tape recording of the landlord that slept in the room across the hall from the girl. The Innocence Project requested docs and they found the tape in 2016. This happened in the 80s. Yikes, man, yikes.

The plot thickens…..the woman’s ex-husband was also invited to this dinner, but had to cancel last minute. He had a mystery ailment himself last year tho, that nearly killed him and required multiple intestine surgeries.

When asked where she got the mushrooms she said from a shop…when asked what shop, she said ‘no comment.’ lol

…..also police have retrieved a dehydrator from the dump, that she may have thrown out since the poisoning.

Oh, and neither her nor her two sons ate any of the meal she prepared for the others……and in the video above, she’s constantly wiping away tears that don’t appear to exist.

….7% of gun murders are done by women, but then they make up 40% of all fatal poisoners. 😳
Not many women want to see or clean up blood.
