OT: Vacations

we used to be avid campers but since we rescued our pooch in 2018 have only slept in a tent once :(

to remedy that we decided we would just book backcountry sites and make it work. so when booking opened in April, and before the third wave, we booked a couple nights backcountry in the national park nearby for dates in early June assuming all would be open by then (and also everything is suuuuper booked up).

anyhow, we just moved it from June to end of September today as we are not permitted to leave our municipality (Keji is like 3 hours from Hali). Parks Canada tried to charge me a change fee which I was having none of.

so, I guess we still have a camping trip to look forward to? I should be fully vaxxed by then too.

I'm definitely starting to think about narrowing down timelines. Basically once I get to 2-3 weeks out from my 2nd dose, I think my plan is to be on a plane somewhere and get away from Texas-North.

I thought it was a mini ice cream machine

Might be my summer side hustle...good way to travel during a COVID summer while banking coin

As we still cannot leave the country without quarantine on return, we are just going back to Banff and Jasper this year (like last year).

5 nights at Banff Springs, 5 nights at Jasper Park Lodge and a couple at Hotel MacDonald in Edmonton so we can go no sales tax shopping at the mall.
