OT: Vacations

Why would the many, many people who have had covid and recovered need to be vaccinated? Seems odd.

For similar reasons that the many, many people who have had other types of coronavirus also need to vaccinate to minimize the possibility of getting it again.

I'll say no. But I'd get on a plane to go anywhere a week or 2 after 2 doses. Will I? No. I have a 1 year old and yeah, fuck that shit. But I'd jump at the opportunity if I didn't because of the less certain fall/winter

yeah long story short I had a vacation booked in my calendar to attend a wedding that I will not be able to attend.

backup plan was a trip to NL to visit good friends. then I realized... wait a minute, I am unlikely to have two doses by then, do I really want to be in an airplane? and the answer was no.

so, on to Plan C. Plan C is pretty great though as it involves an overnight trip to Dover Island, which will only mean something to people who like to climb rocks.

What's gonna happen with that wedding anyway? Will they have it in the midst of another vicious wave in the UK?

good question. they are on date three and suspect have lost the opportunity to recover their deposit which is why they are dead-set on proceeding. but that is speculation.

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out summer plans. My parents want to take a trip to visit my bro+niece+family in late July, and it's still a little up in the air when my shot #2 is coming to know whether I should try to make that trip or not. Thanks to the AB anti-vaxxers I will be able to book my 2nd shot starting like June 28, but I don't know when my actual appointment will come. If it's like Ontario, it may not be until late July. But given it's AB, like, maybe I'll get it June 30 or something in which case I'd be well vaxxed by the time the trip was planned.

If they are anything like me and my fiance... we are keeping our ceremony date in july and doing a small patio with immediate family. Then late december a reception for the full 200 people we invited.

Appears the way many are going right now as everyone is fed up with changing dates.

Hoping to do a San Fran to LA drive this august. Anyone have any suggestions of things to see? Have 9 days to do it.

Anyone here know what its like in New Brunswick from an opening perspective?

Thinking of driving and spending a few days in St Andrews and from what im reading we wont have any restrictions as fully vaccinated people.
