covid is over in NB. just came from there and they no longer require masks indoors. unsure about interprovincial entry but assume there is no issue. so basically a free for all.

of course, they also had a big surge in covid cases in Moncton this weekend (right before we drove home through it!)

Hoping to do a San Fran to LA drive this august. Anyone have any suggestions of things to see? Have 9 days to do it.
Drive down the Big Sur -- amazing drive going south. At the end of the Big Sur, there is (or used to be) an amazing motel at the top of a cliff called the Ragged Cliff Inn. Great place to spend a night.

Anywhere here of warm/cheap/safe places to stay for 6-8 months this winter? Was targeting return to Thailand, but not sure it’s gonna hold up. Was thinking Argentina if they reopen.

Open to suggestions

I'm pretty sure most of those Asian countries like Thailand and Vietnam are going to be mostly shut for a while.

I'm thinking I might just stick to somewhere like Mexico as they need the tourist money and should more or less be open. Although looks like they're going through a bad wave now, and they're really not pushing things on vaccines or stuff, so whether it gets under control by the winter is a tough call.

There's a strong part of me that wants to get back out and get some travel in. But man, despite all the doom and gloom here, Canada is actually still in pretty great shape for things. Things are on the rise again, but it's still very low compared to elsewhere. Like Portugal has less than 1/3 of Canada's population, but are getting like 3X more cases there a day than we are here. When I don't feel 100% safe here, it's hard to justify going somewhere where things are 10x worse.

So I have a week off before Good Friday and I'm itching to go somewhere. Haven't been out of the province since my trip to the Azores like a month before Covid. Don't want to fly too far, so was thinking of Caribbean or maybe Mexico or I dunno, Vegas? Anyone traveled recently? What's the airport experience like?

In all honesty the few people I know that traveled said it was a nightmare but I haven't kept up with any new testing regulations and stuff since. A friend of a friend actually went to Europe for their honeymoon a couple months ago and the groom tested positive for a month straight (could be longer, that was just the last I heard of it). So they were stranded and couldn't fly home. Rare case, but that happens sometimes.

Have a cousin that got infected and booked a trip to the Dominican the week she recovered. Had a great time while there but it was a bit of a shitstorm too.
