OT: World Politics

WeHave for sure hates Jews
Fuck off.

I hate Israeli zionist fascists like Bibi. I dont hate Jews. I dont give a shit about anyone's religion because all religions are bullshit.

And I absolutely reject the lazy attack on anyone who disagrees with Israeli government policies as antisemitism.

Who is blaming everybody in a party? You always take the opposing position and stretch it way past what anyone is actually saying.

And if you’re trying to say there’s only a handful of antisemites on the left, well you filled your comedy quota for the day.
You unfortunately have never been able to tell the difference between antisemitism and anti-Israeli fascist.

When I discuss a political party, I do not refer to the rank-and-file members; I discuss the political leadership.

But this place does like to (rightfully, in many cases) say all MAGA (rank-and-file) members believe what their leadership and ecosystem tell them to believe. Why is there a difference with the NDP?

And I proved it wasn't just a fever dream on my end, that there are real doubts about where the NDP stands (could be biased, sure).

And your response: "Well, sure, there are fringe people in every party..." lol.
The NDP is a fringe party so I expect them to promote fringe views. But so what? Those views arent getting them elected and they never will.

You know what else is a fringe party? The PPC, who also will never have power but who's members are decidedly more prone to using violence and to own guns than the NDP.

There is also a fringe element in the CPC, a fringe element that Poilievre, rather than marginalizing, is always encouraging. They too, hate Jews and are not opposed to using violence.

But if you want to pretend that the unwashed hippies chanting for a free Palestine are the real threat, be my guest.

You always have to separate the people from the government. Being anti-Trump doesn't make you anti-American, just like being anti-Netanyahu doesn't make you anti-Israel. It's the peoples job to question their government and not take everything they say at face value. Governmental actions aren't representative of the majority of people for the most part either. Netanyahu is underwater in terms of popularity with basically everyone within Israel.

100% THIS!

Unfortunately, the LOF's of the world want to equate any criticism of Israel with antisemitism. It's a lazy, juvenile argument but he is far from the only person out there who gaslight people this way.

I've mentioned this a few times over the last few years as a likely reason for the disconnect from reality that Putin has consistently shown regarding what he thinks Russia's position in the war is vs what open source intel and professional assessment as suggested.

This is one of the core issues with any autocracy that inflicts punishment on those who incur the wrath of the throne. The people who end up in the orbit of the autocrat are the best liars, not the most competent. Competent people are a threat to the throne. There is always going to be an atrophy of decision making ability and a deep disconnect from the facts on the ground because unpopular facts will never make it in the reports, there is no reward for speaking difficult fact, and no punish for pumping convenient lies up the chain. I doubt Putin even questions this much either as he sees his role as supreme authority as one of making the people believe that what he says is fact regardless of what comes out of his mouth and a significant amount of the purpose of the governmental apparatus is enforcing that.

You could foresee this as far back as a month into the invasion when all the Russkie ordinance broke down in the field because it had never been properly maintained in years. That entire country runs on corruption. And when you have a country like that, shit will inevitably not work when you need it because the money and material needed to properly maintain shit gets stolen.

Likewise, and just like with Trump, smart people get no traction with the leader when they tell him uncomfortable truths. They only want good news, and only listen to people willing to tell then what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear. Putin isnt senile like Trump but he's just as poorly informed as to what is really happening on the battlefield. No one dares tell him the truth because they're afraid of being made to take a flying lesson out of a 10th storey window. So they play the game.

Eventually Putin will need to be assassinated, if only because there is no mechanism in Russian politics for a bloodless transfer of power.
