OT: World Politics

Yeah, I didn't want to post some of the osint guys talking about the tone of conversation on Russian telegram channels. But that's what I've been reading for the last few days, there is a fuck load of concern and fear in them right now, a lot of infighting, etc.

An increase in local counterattacks in established hotspots could be to force the Russians to commit forces and appropriate reserve levels to holding those areas, then hammer rail infrastructure (the Russians rely heavily, heavily on rail for logistics. Cut rail links and their ability to move forces through the landbridge basically ceases to exist), and then hit the areas already scouted as weak and accessible with full armor and mechanized infantry pushes to break the lines.

yeah, the Ukrainians have earned some trust at this point. they know what they're doing. I'm excited to see the results.

FWIW, I fully support the Ukrainians crossing into Russia if they think they have the capacity and it would be worthwhile. Nothing would be more embarrassing for Vlad at this point I don't think.

I wouldn’t support them trying to take and permanently hold any territory in Russia proper.

But yeah, if attacking across the border helps them achieve their objectives, have at it. The border of a nation currently engaged in a genocidal war of aggression against you absolutely isn’t sacrosanct.

If after driving Russians to the border the Russians continued firing from Russia proper into Ukraine, I would support Ukie artillery and long range strikes at military targets within range, yeah.

But for optics alone, a Ukie boot shouldn't touch Russian soil.

Yah, territory…not if they want to have a strategic partnership, let alone membership, with NATO. It’ll be a lift to get back to pre-2014.

Its going to be tough to know the feints from the pushes. But I've always felt that finishing the job across the river and putting pressure on Crimea would bring the most outsized response from the Russians. After they've moved forces west, cut the rail links and bring the hammer through Zap and cut it right half.

If they don't send big reinforcement, see you in Sevastopol and then create a 3rd front for them to defend.
