You have convinced me, the country with territory annexed, that is begging the world for money and arms, can't get its offensive off the ground, is winning. Not sure why I thought Russia was winning, must have been the Russian bots on X and FB.

If Putin has to press gang women into dying for Mother Russia there's no way that they are in the process of winning. It reeks of desperation. What's next? 15 year old members of the "Putin Youth" being formed into regiments like during the fall of Berlin?

not sure what your source is but I can also say I saw stories of Vlod conscripting developmentally delayed. Btw Vlod is drafting women too.

Fixed it.

Ukrainians aren't dying senselessly. They are fighting and in some cases dying defending their country's independence from a foreign oppressor. Only the orcs are being wasted to fulfill Putin's fever dream.

They are still dying, why your kid died really won't matter at the end of the day (and the Russians think they are fighting for a good reason). If you are right, and you might be, that Ukraine is winning, maybe when I am riding the Tron ride at WDW in 3 weeks, (or better yet, when I am on Harry Potter rides at Universal in 2.5 weeks, Ukraine will liberate Crimea after 9 years, and the breakaway republics/annexed territories in the Donbas.

I suspect that no matter who is winning, at the end of the day, it does look like a stalemate at this time, and it could end up as a long war of attrition.

The west is giving Vlod just enough to ensure his fronts do not collapse to Vlad's troops. I suspect the people in western Europe (especially England where groceries are up 15% in a year) and North Americans are not going to want to continue sending never ending funds to Vlod's government. Sooner or later, that money will dry up. When that happens is anybody's guess.

Russia’s path is waiting for the USA election and having trump (or any of the right wing guys if he dies or goes to jail before election time) win and then stop assisting Ukraine. Stalemate favours Russia for that as its prob 50/50 that this happens.

Even then I'm not sure they "win" beyond maybe formally annexing some of the territory that was already held before the invasion.

Russia probably doesn't have the ability to hold anything more than that by 18 months from now.

I don’t think Trump is 50/50 to win the election, and many RW politicians would give even more support to Ukraine than Biden has. But yes, this might be Russia’s best bet to “win” this genocidal assault on its neighbour.

That's the one of the 3 points of attack along the line in Zap that the Ukies have started as part of the offensive. The Russians had a year to prepare their defences in that region and in 8 weeks the Ukies have moved the lines in that region about 8.5km.

Similar gains have been had around Robotyne, on the flanks in Bakhmut and in taking the bridgehead at Kherson. It's not the dramatic breakthrough we all want, but it's been a steady and consistent execution of their offensive doctrine.

They're using their newfound artillery superiority to feint Russian armor reserves into responding to attacks (some real, some not), targeting them with drone and arty attacks, while keeping arty and drone recon in reserve to wait for Russian arty fire and then using counter battery attacks to take out Russian arty pieces. The most recent analysis I've seen has the Russians losing 4 artillery pieces (visually confirmed) for every one Ukie piece but with a caveat, that confirming destroyed Russian arty pieces can only be done by drone (they're 10+ km behind the line of contact in most places) and Ukie losses are way easier to visually confirm so it's likely that the 4-1 ratio is a lot worse for the Russians.

They done this while taking minimal losses (report came out yesterday saying that they may have only lost 3 Leopards, the rest have all be repairable...Bradley's, who fucking cares? They're designed to increase survivability of the troops inside, not to tank damage and continue operation...and the US has a more or less limitless supply to give them).

It's working, just slower than us fanboys had imagined.
