OT: World Politics

I'm sure the US/Britain backed coup of a democratic leader had no influence on Iran's path over the past 70 years or so.

It didn’t help, I agree. But maybe Vietnam serves as a good lesson to reconcile with the west. Since the revolution in 79 it’s been a 🐐 🦭. And the IRG are kleptomaniac thugs holding their country hostage, much like the KGB scum in Russia.

That’s fair. And I acknowledge that oil is a distorting factor. But, still, we’re in cut off to spite face territory, IMO.

Bottom line: IRG are scum that have stolen the economy/normalization at the expense of the people. And the longer it goes on, the higher the stakes for the oligarchic class. When it breaks, it will be ugly.

Frum is a bit of a turd. Reformed anti-Trump turd. But still a turd.

Another good reason to rest control from the fascist shitstains in charge
And replace them with "our" fascist shitstains like the US did on behalf of the UK when they put the Shah into power by toppling a democratically elected government that wanted to nationalize their oil industry.

Not just oil. How about the democratically elected governments that the US replaced with right wing military juntas in Central America at the behest of the United Fruit Company?

The entire history of postwar American foreign policy is nothing but the cynical and hypocritical replacement of democracies for dictatorships because it was better for business when people in other countries had no power over their own resources.

I'm just trying to understand the logistics of what happened today. Where did the drones fly from, Iran? Did they fly over Iraqi airspace and no one cared (I thought those 2 countries hated each other)? Or was it from some other country.

The Iranian drone attack launched today againt America should strike July 4th, severely damaging hot dog sales…

So this telegraphed attack was even weaker than i thought. Not sure how this doesn't end up making them look even more ineffectual.
