OT: World Politics

What are the odds that Trump’s looking at this “fake news” law Vlad just passed and salivating at it?

I don’t think there’s anything he’d like more than to shut down all media that’s critical of him and throw any reporter or individual who contradicts or criticizes him into jail.

And I’m not sure how to feel about Putin doing this stuff. On the one hand it’s obviously horrible, and it’s going to help keep the true picture of what’s going on from filtering down to more Russians. It also may be very effective at scaring domestic critics into submission.

On the other hand, repression can turn into a vicious cycle for autocrats. Repression breeds more discontent, which breeds more repression, which breeds more discontent, etc., until the dam finally bursts.

The first amendment will guarantee that the media can continue to criticize the government. It even comes before the gun thingy in the second amendment.

At this point there is 100% likelihood that Trump would become Saddam Jr over time, if left unchecked. Golden toilets, jailing rivals, idiot sons drunk on power... The story practically writes itself.

Good point. Trump will probably introduce the law but it will be struck down unless he tears up the constitution. And even MaGAts probably care more about the constitution than Trump. Probably?

what is up with the Z thing?

is that the new swastika?

Russian and Ukrainian forces use a lot of the same vehicles.

So to avoid instances of friendly fire, I guess, Russia has painted a big “Z” on all their invading vehicles, which people who are supportive of the Russian invasion seem to be adopting as a symbol.

Magats know less about the constitution than Trump does. Neither has read it, same with their bible. Truth be told.
