Not just that, him getting a title shot was bonkers. It's nuts.

He was originally scheduled to fight Cejudo before Covid ruined things & Dominick Cruz stepped in. Cejudo specifically wanted to fight Aldo, which is how he skipped the queue. It's bullshit, but fine, fuck it. I thought Aldo was going to starch him anyway.

So when Cejudo beat Cruz & retired I figured, cool, Aldo's not getting a shot because the guy who specifically asked for him isn't fighting anymore.

...And they give him the title shot anyway. Absurd.

(Btw, the UFC rankings are completely and utterly worthless. They should never be taken seriously.)
 
For those who want some heat Saturday night, Dan Hooker against Dustin Poirier is going to be A BANGER.

If you like fighting, even if you aren't a fan of MMA, you have to watch this fight. Both are action fighters and both are straight up killers. The rest of the card is whatever, but the main event is must-see TV and very well could be a fight of the year candidate.

yeah for sure, Bantamweight might be my new favourite division, lots of different styles and plenty of heavy hitters even at that weight

Oh yeah I'm pumped for this one. I am a fan of both fighters. Should be an absolute banger as you said.
