OT: WWE/MMA/Boxing Thread

It’s hard to put men against woman like that I guess. But really hard to say because of that. Could say something similar if he was 260 would he be the heavyweight champ? Not so sure. Don’t even think he could move up to light heavyweight and win the belt.

Lioness is just beastly and doing it across two divisions has to mean something.

Regardless of what the judges said, Valentina Schevchenko beat Amanda Nunes in their second fight, and she's a 125er. Sorry, she's the best P4P woman's fighter.

The 135 and 145 women's divisions are barren wastelands and Amanda Nunes didn't look like a world-beater against Germain de Randamie.

Khabib is the top P4P male fighter, but I wouldn't push too hard against Izzy being #2.

Yes, yes he would be. Nobody would touch him. Khabib would be able to wrestlefuck him (if they were the same size), but his takedown D is next level and getting close enough to shoot on him is difficult, his distance control is stupid good. I'd take Izzy if I was putting money down at even odds.

That's not what P4P is. Could he go fight guys who fight 20 pounds heavier than he is, and be the best in the world at it? Probably not, but that's a massive jump in weight (because the UFC's weight classes make no sense) and the difference in size is the only reason. If Izzy was a natural 205 pounder though? Absolutely and in a walk. The skill difference between what we saw in the Yan-Reyes fight and what Izzy just did is crazy.

It means that she's the best female fighter of all time. But that is what it is. Men's MMA and Women's MMA are two completely different sports. Lioness would be lucky to beat any legitimate professional male fighter in her weight class....and yes she's fucking awesome, but biology is a thing.

I had no doubt whatsoever that Izzy was going to win that fight.

Neither one of them had ever attempted a single takedown in their UFC careers and they both like to strike.

Adesanya was a world class kickboxer before he transitioned into MMA. If it's going to be a pure kickboxing fight with MMA gloves, the result shouldn't be shocking. There's nobody in the UFC, regardless of weight class, that can rival Izzy on the feet in a straight kickboxing fight.

Paulo Costa's only path to victory was to mimic Gastelum, but I'm not sure he has the tools. Alternatively, if he could have pressured Izzy against the cage and limit his mobility, then to muscle his way into dirty boxing and clinchwork, then maybe.

Tonight's UFC is lackluster to say the least, but the main event is tremendous. Co-main is kinda cool I guess, but Barboza's not as good as he once was.

Marlon Moraes - Cory Sandhagen is a world class fight.

Even lacklustre potential cards have turned out with a lot of decent fights since ufc came back.

hoping Dana starts putting some more weekday cards together with no mlb, nba and nhl after a few weeks

Brian Ortega got a onesided decision win over Chan Sung Jung.

Not sure about his chances against Volkanovski, but that should be an excellent fight.

Now, on to Lomachenko...
