Pierre-Luc Dubois Thread

What is pan out for you ?
Expections are high for a # 1 pick. So I would say never becomes a regular top 6 forward in the NHL. And if Cooley becomes a top ten scorer (points) in the league, look out, the knives will be out..

Slaf was one of 3 potential 1OA players along with Wright and Cooley. And most discounted Cooley pre-draft. It was really Wright versus Slaf with most pundits leaning toward Wright. Cooley was more of a dark horse.

Aren’t there 5 or 6 players in the 2023 draft better than anyone in the 2022 draft?

Meh. Besides, if Slafkovsky learns to use his size properly, his impact will be very positive in Montreal. We have no one like him, not even close.

Yeah, Slaf probably gets taken around the 6th pick this year if he was being drafted on his draft eligible season.
I still think he goes top 5 , some team will be enamored with his size and potential

League hasnt had this unicorn frame in decades available in the top 5

I think Slaf will be just fine when he puts it all together. I'd be much more concerned with Wright. He seems not to have recovered from the snub on draft day. He's allowed it to get in the way of his development. He seems to have lost a measure of confidence. He seems a bit fragile between the ears.

He's rough but yes the potential is there. Won't be soon though. 3 years. Might need two on the AHL.

Other than Bedard, who knows? Only time will tell.

I don’t think it’s the snub. There’s just not a single thing about him that seems elite or special. Just a solid, unspectacular player.

Ya, probably around 7-8, I think Benson/Leonard would go before him since they probably have more offensive upside.
