I thought we completely dominated the first 2 periods. We had tons of great chances. Then in the 3rd with the lead, Tampa played it safe and shut the door.

That 2nd goal really hurt.

The Habs had lots of excellent chances. I actually watched the game. Your analytics guys are idiots.

Suzuki & Anderson were partial breakaways, Habs had zero chances w players alone in high danger areas facing Vasilevsky.

TBay had 5-opportunities w players being all alone in high danger areas facing Price.

i.e Palat at goal mouth w no Hab player around him etc. can’t recall one opportunity for a Hab player all alone near Vasilevsky

Tampa is a very well rounded team, and their goalie is one of the best in the league. The game plan was to play hard, hope Price stops everything and then get lucky.

Habs players need to have a bit more awareness, TBay players (forwards & D) cheat on plays - the take chances anticipating on plays. I get the play is happening a super fast pace, but, a bit more awareness is needed...

For example, Palat goal, you could see he was angling to cheat on Edmundson making that bank pass.

One more point..

Staal line dominated cycling puck in TBay zone, and prior to Habs goal, KKs line also effectively cycled in the OZone, wearing down the TBay players.

The issue is cycling the puck is standard practice for Staal line, but not for other 3-lines.

Habs have to find a way to incorporate cycling the puck in the TBay zone to wear them down, because Vasilevsky also seems more penetrable when opposing team cycles and forces him to keep active

D and 31 need to be more alert. Forwards had hell of game yesterday. We know we can't score many goals on Vasil, so if we want have a slim chance D and 31 need to play perfect game. Can they?!?!
