Women’s professional baseball will be great. It will help grow the sport and be fun to watch. Many of my favorite baseball viewing experiences are watching minor league games in small, quirky little parks or even little league games. Doesn’t have to be the highest level to be good sport.

Nah...not really. There's a measurable gap in skill / strength between men and women in different sports. Basketball, Tennis, MMA are a few that come to mind. Some of it is training gap that absolutely will continue to close as more money deservedly gets pumped into women sports development but the physiological gap will likely not go away. And again, nothing wrong with that, it doesn't make the female version of the sport less good or worthy of investment.
Hmm. Still reading a take that seems to imply that the male version (?) of sports execution is somehow. . .better than female, e.g.,
money deservedly gets pumped into women sports development.
How 'bout they're just different because of physiologicals, and that within each there are different qualities? Develop the hell out of that.

Not bashin' ya, but I sorta get that "he/she's gay, not that there's anything wrong with that" kind of reasoning.

What's the goal of pumping money into women's sports development if not to improve overall development? Period.

Think the Scepters have much better attendance than the Marlies. And more expensive tickets unfortunatelyx

Maybe you're expressing a preference for male performance in some sports, as opposed to a qualitative argument about male and female execution of sports. . . ?
There’s also the years of pro level quality youth programming for males where there’s a professional league option where female sports had little for high level athletes as there was nowhere to go as an adult professional. Women’s hockey has boomed and the more development that happens the better th product on the ice/field etc. Will it ever be the same? Probably not but it doesn’t need to be.

👍
Ack above bolded, too.

You seem to care a whole bunch about stuff that doesn’t really pertain to you though. That or the obvious choice that you just love to spout off about everything and anything to read your own posts. Honestly. Peek your head outside the front door. Women’s rugby erupted this year. PWHL had enough growth to add two teams after year 2. They’ve got basketball and now baseball on the way. There are plenty of female athletes and sports enthusiasts that will watch as well as attend. Why is it any skin off your teeth? Who cares? So many more pressing things to shake your fist at, aren’t there?
Because this is a discussion board. It runs on people posting stuff, and when people express strong opinions they get engagement. I dont "care" about a lot of things but Im happy to opine on them to drive traffic. But no, Im not immersed in these takes.

As a matter of fact, Im posting this while sitting through a TV timeout in the Habs-Oilers game from my seat in Rogers Place.

+1

You said it better than I did.

And holy fuck was I invested in Canada's side for the Women's World Cup. Really wanted to see them take it home, especially after that epic win over New Zealand.

LOL at “drive traffic”

Nobody likes traffic. We want to get to somewhere good!
