Rumors: 2024-25 Season

I’m not that attached to that pick, I don’t see a realistic scenario where Florida is a top 10 pick.
I understand that perspective. I guess it comes down to how much one values McGraorty. I see him as a ceiling 2nd liner with some jam. It's not like we're talking about Ryan Leonard. So for me, it's a big no. Especially if any of the rumors about his demands are true. Again, I would rather trust our scouts to find us someone with the same potential with one of our picks.

Fla was a couple points away from not making the playoffs the season before last. All it takes is a slump or injury or 2 to some key players. We know how the NHL can swing one way or the other. Just think how sickening it would be if The Flames finish last overall next season, and Fla does a 360 and doesn't make the playoffs, and we traded a very real shot at McKenna. I'd rather roll those dice, keep the pick, keep Barron and Mesar. If anything, package them for another 1st with even a slight chance of being a lottery pick in 2026.

I can’t wait to see Hutson operate on our power play.
Dude No doubt. Can you imagine him on the point, Slaf off that right half-wall, or net-front, Suzuki and Caulfield left half-wall and down low...and Maillioux with that bomb from the point? I'm pretty stoked for next season!

We can always add another condition on the pick.

We should be able to parlay a pick with Matheson.

If we think a 20s Florida pick shouldn’t be used to get McGroarty, I dunno what to say. Calgary picked 9th this year and they’re only gonna be worse. I seriously doubt we’ll get a 11-12 pick from them.

I still can’t believe someone would trade Lane Hutson for him.

P.S. I’ve seen both play in person. The little guy is more impactful.
For me Hutson is boom or bust

Obviously he needs to add weight and get stronger

Hopefully a dynamic top 4 PP genius who cant get by defensively like Spurgeon

I dont want to see a Marc Andre Bergeron , a pure PP specialist who needed to be sheltered

MM is worth a ton now

Most teams did their UFA shopping , MM is the best by far available at a great contract

We can just say Winnipeg gets the lesser of our pick or Cgy/Fla. Worst case is a top 10 pick, but the worst of the two, so not a shot at McKenna.

He has elite IQ and drive, he’s going to be good.

I’m ok with Hutson-Reinbacher, Guhle-Mailloux as pairing until something better comes along.

we're gonna need guys like Slaf, Mailloux, Reinbacher, Dach to play physical to protect our smaller forwards.....kinda like how Panthers played
