Rumors: 2024-25 Season

If he wasn’t joking, that’s a historically bad take by him.
I understand where he's coming from, but he's at least a year if not 2 or 3 years early. You don't go to Game 7 of the finals and then, a couple of months later, say "Fuck it. Let's blow it up because we're going to be in cap hell 4 or 5 years from now". The Oiler have the best player in hockey, one of the best players in the history of the game, in his prime right now. And they have another guy nearly as good who just re-upped. Bowman would have to be insane to start pinching pennies now. He needs to go balls to the wall and mortgage whatever future they have to serve the present.

search your feelings, you know it to be true, if we lost in finals in game 7, you would call ua losers, failures and demand heads roll

That major move Deadmonton was looking to make on D comes in the name of Travis Dermott on a PTO.

They did say they were exploring PTOs or something more significant. Savard could be a good candidate for them at the deadline.
I've no doubt that they'll be looking to add a veteran D at the deadline who can clean up Nurse's defensive zone diaper shitting. Savard would be a perfect fit and it would only cost them a 1st rounder.

Under normal circumstances we shouldn’t get a first for Savard. But let’s see how pouty McDingDong gets and if desperation sets in.

Savard sucked last year. No way he fetches a first at the deadline if he's playing at the same level this upcoming season.

I doubt it too… but as always, his price will be determined by supply/demand so it depends how many teams will still be chasing the dream at the deadline.

Last yr, a lot of teams were sellers if I recall correctly
