Rumors: 2024-25 Season

It's not about disrespect for the player. Respect doesn't enter into it. It's just mathematics.

The biggest mistake GM's make is the same one ordinary Joe's make when they buy a house: they make it personal. They get emotional. Player agents and real estate agents love it when that happens because they know they're going to get a huge commission based on the buyer's emotional response.

You make a fair offer to the player (assuming you want to keep him in the first place) Yes you can negotiate a little but at some point it becomes a take it or leave it proposition. There is no need to get emotional over a bottom six forward. Save it for the elite players who are actually difficult to replace.

Oh my fucking lord. I can pull up this same banal shit from you Muppets from five years ago. Mind-numbingly obtuse and flat out stupid.

Seriously makes me want to dispel with you guys. Come up with something new already!

Fucking morons

In my defense I wanted Gallagher traded at his peak.

I don’t think Evans will get as much as some people fear. His early season success was based on an unsustainable shooting %, which has since ended, whereas his sustainable offensive output is quite modest.

And from what I gather, his is self-aware.

Sure, but I don’t think he’ll be overpaid as is being suggested here. He’ll get fair market value with HuGo, I think. They kept the discipline with Caufield and Slafkovsky, and I see the same thing happening here.
He's also comfortable and has become one of the leaders on a younger team. A lot of players don't want to move on to a new situation if the money is at least fair.

If Brisebois could tell an all time team great like Stammer to fuck off , Hugo can do the same with role players

What does that have to do with the price of tea you're smoking?

First you're wailing on about how the team should offer him garbage and now you're flipping it on the player. No shit he should do what's best for him.
