DIRECTV is arguing that since Bally Sports lost several MLB teams, DIRECTV should not be paying the same amount they did when these teams aired on Bally Sports.
This comment in the article makes me laugh….
I have called DTV (and other carriers in the past) several times over the years when they stopped carrying channels I watched and asked them to lower my bill since I now get less channels. They laughed in my face and somehow raised my rates. Now, THEY want to pay less since Balley’s lost some teams. The irony is not lost on me

Maybe once they don't have to guess at their available budget every week, they can get a handle on QC.The NBA and Diamond Sports Group have reached and agreement where the 15 NBA teams that have their games broadcast on a Bally Sports outlet will continue through the end of the season. After this season, the broadcast deals will be terminated regardless of remaining term and the rights will revert back to the NBA. The clubs will also be able to shop up to 10 games to another broadcast partner. In exchange, the league reduced Bally’s fee by 16%. But itensures That no team will be dropped mid season, as happens with the San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks.
Diamond intends to pursue a similar deal with the NHL, where they own the rights to 11 teams.
