Does anyone here use DirecTV streaming? How do you access it, through a Smart TV or through Roku/Fire Stick/Chromecast? Do you get the local channels?

Yes. I have it. You can download the app to the tv/roku or you can do like me and get the dongle receiver and it works just like directv with 4K channels as well.

Dongle looks like this. But you don’t need it I just use it because I like the functionality

It's an app on my smart TV like Netflix, HBO, Prime, etc. Find it, install it, login, and there's all your channels. And yes, local TV channels as well.

For the record, there is also a hard-wired version with a set-top box ... which is why people are constantly getting confused about DTV Streaming.

They do the dongle now instead of the set top box. That’s why I have them. Also, if you have the dongle, you get Disney+ Hulu and ESPN+ for free as part of your package.

Either way, the hardware element confuses people who don't have the service. You CAN just use the app

Well, I just brought it up on the Canes webpage and airplayed it to the TV. Worked just fine. Especially because we didn't get the in-arena sound during breaks.

It was great to have it working inside YouTube TV. So much better than having to flip between apps.

That's the only reason I noticed. I was catching up on Jeopardy from being out of town most of the last two weeks.

Wild. I tried it in Fayetteville and it was blacked out. Had to go to the website

Same. Went to the ESPN+ app on Roku and it was blacked out. So I watched the last 3 episodes of Neaghley instead.

Again ... pre season is weird. Maybe it was only available through the YTTV interface. I only clicked it to see if it worked, and it did

It’s not available yet. The Canes said it will become so ahead of the first game on October 2nd.
