This is the ignominious end that Hockey Canada deserved. Call it karma for using minor hockey registration fees as hush money to cover up all the raping. Every HC exec should have lost their job and the entire organization should have been disbanded and defunded. Canada didn'tdeserve to host this tournament nor participate in it and they sure as shit did not deserve to profit in any way from it.

The people who tried to cover it up deserve to go to prison as much of not more than the players who actually participated. But since there's no justice in this world I'll settle for the current team being humiliated on home ice. Fuck em.

I almost saw Damien Cox fingers typing as you basically plagiarized his whine from the Star that noone is talking about an issue from 6-7 yrs ago.

The fact that no one is talking about it is part of the problem. But the bigger part of the problem is that crimes have been committed and funds misappropriated to cover up those crimes and no one who wears a suit and tie for a living within Hockey Canada is going to prison.

People in positions of public trust and people like the HC execs, who operate "in loco parentis" need to be punished when things like this occur. When they aren't, the corruption just continues and escalates. The incident in London was just one incident but it was not the only incident. This sort of behavior, both the sexual assaults and the subsequent cover up's, is endemic at Hockey Canada precisely because it has been allowed to happen and go unpunished.

If we as a country want this shit to stop happening people need to go to prison; both the players who commit the actual assaults and the executives who sweep it under the rug. And until justice is done and is seen to be done, Hockey Canada shouldn't get one red cent's worth of public funding and any corporation that supports them should be boycotted.

Calls didn't go our way but it wasn't the robbery that you're inferring to.

Every year Team Canada tries to built the toughest roster, one that would punish and bully the other teams by finishing their checks and driving them through the boards at every chance, and every year they complain about the refs and lack of discipline. I just don't have a ton of sympathy.

Only one guy resigned and nobody from the executive branch of HC is facing criminal charges for obstruction or misappropriation of funds. There has been no culture change within the organization which would lead anyone to believe that this sort of shit won't happen again. There is still no transparency.
