My interest in this is more cultural and economic than stock price. I think it says some really bad shit about what we are and where we're going that a product that hype cycles like that don't just exist, but are completely predictable. I don't see how the the hyper financialization of everything ends up any way but dystopian for society. That these are getting so big that they can completely reshape the stock market, wallpaper over massive economic issues on a GDP level scale before they've shown any actual tangible value at scale is probably a really bad sign for us moving forward.
If we're not in a drastically different social paradigm when a real game changing technology happens, the fuck is going to happen then? Real AGI, life extension, fusion, etc.
For this bubble, yeah it'll pop eventually and the shockwaves are probably going to be fucking bad due to how much money gets lost, how much money basically evaporates in one event and all of the knock ons that creates. Dunno when though, irrational markets stay irrational longer than something something solvent.
