if you're keeping score that's about $200B in market cap lost in 6 weeks....that loss itself is bigger than the market cap of all but 32 publicly traded companies in the US. ie all of McDonalds is valued at $200B, Nike $175B, Disney $170B

I mean, it was stupidly over-valued before. It's probably not even down to what it should be based on what they actually do yet. It's still got a long way to go.

Before Elon went nuts, I personally figured Tesla would eventually end up as a BMW sized auto makers delivering 2-2.5 million units a year. Which would value Tesla at about 15% of it's current market cap.

and that was before Elon decided to turn his cars into an electronic maga hat.

The Fed is determined to put us into a deep recession I guess with these nonstop rate hikes.

No one can afford to buy a home anymore, car leases and purchases are super expensive, all these companies with massive loans at cheap rates that will have to refinance sooner or later at steep increases, all these waves of layoffs. It seems almost like we're going to be fucked for another 10 years or more.

This is where people who had the good fortune of building up a huge wad over the years, and kept it by not putting it in the market, are going to go from people with a few mill to people with tens of millions as they use that cash to buy things outright with no loans, and then see those acquisitions appreciate like crazy when we come through this. Everyone else gets to tread water or drown till then.
