Yeah I posted that. I REALLY hate guys like Dreger and Gord Miller who pull the "AN NHL GM TOLD ME..." bit when someone disagrees with them. That GM needs to be fired ASAP.
And Andi just came up with the lazierst myths any casual fan repeats.

That's the issue. He can come out and lie. It' ssuch a terrible retort. And he does it so often. Another issue is, maybe 1 did and 2 said Nylander was better. He can choose which one to repeat.
I am sure he heard from sources last year there would be no offersheets. He chooses what to repeat for the attention.

Gord Miller can't STFU about "I Just got a text from a GM" . "Last night I had dinnerw ith an agent..."

The explanation was mouth breather stupid to...well see, in Kappy, I know I'm getting a 3rd liner and I know where he slots in my lineup. With Nylander, I don't know what I'm getting.

Johnson was right to call it out as dumb....fuckface, you're getting a 1st line forward.
 
It's classic "appeal to authority" fallacy. That's all guys like Dreger or Miller have to back their arguments up.

That was mouth breather stupid too. He was told "yeah, this kid is PPG in the AHL at 20 yrs old...he looks pretty good" and his response was thag PPG AHL'ers were a dime a dozen. Which is true.

Not differentiating by age is dumb as fuck though. Kappy was the youngest PPG player in the AHL by about a year. The 2nd and 3rd youngest were Guentzel and Labanc, who have also turned into pretty good fucking players.

So more than just being stand alone stupid, it really underlines where a massive gap in his analytic ability is. Yeah, Kenny Agostino was a 1.3ppg player in the AHL that season, and those guys are absolutely dime a dozen...but 20-21 yr old PPG players in the AHL absolutely aren't.

People keep bringing up the consistency thing. MJ made a great point.. he isn't McDavid. Sorry. Players who get 65-70 point players all go through hot streaks and minor dips throughout a season. If they didn't they would be 100 point players.

And the fucker is paid like a 55-60 point player. I heard noodles the other day say he's not exceeding his contract; he's just meeting it. Historically dumb. All of them.

From the stories I have heard about some of the executives this wouldnt shock me in the least

I dont believe its a common theme but these roles are typically filled by ex players to help keep the OBC alive and well

I was recently told only roughly 5 teams ars believed to be using raw analytic data in the league while the rest use it sparingly and heavily lean on the eye test of their scouting depts
